Hello team, sorry to bother you in your weekend. I have informed Mr Jacques about the tsm rig we are using, he suggests us to have a meeting with him on monday evening 4 a discussion with him. he suggested 6pm but I doubt its possibility.
Sorry about making this decision but evelyn and I are the ones who will be doing this project for another month so i believe we have to make the best decision. Mr Jacque will be with me for another month and not following the lecturer's advices after they have tried to help is quite disrespectful.
However, I do not want to offend both parties as this is your project as well. Speaking on behalf for evelyn, the render passes are taught by Mr Chris. I believe the lecturers have much more experience than us and it doesn't hurt to follow what they have said.
Next, something i want to point out about all our previous group meetings is that I feel that the meetings were quite inefficient as we were quite disorganised, often drifting away from the original topic very often. I hope everyone can play a part better.
Sorry once again for changing my mind after the group meeting. I apologise if I sound rude but I believe honesty is the best policy. Please do reply me asap before monday.

anyway just in case i can't make,i will stress again that im fine with BOTH rigs..now its up to the others to decide.
and im sorry if we keep drifting away from our topic at every meeting and thanx for the honesty.

I understand and appreciate that the lectures give their inputs and suggestions, and have no doubt that the methods they share do make sense and do work as they should.
ReplyDeleteIt's really akin to giving a child a bazooka, sure, it's a powerful weapon, but what good will it do if the child isn't even able to lift it up?
But I also understand the difficult position you guys are in, Qing Xiong and Eve. It's easy to oppose a very easily angered man from a distance, but much harder to do if you see him everyday.
On the contrary, I don't think NOT using their suggestions equals disrespecting them. They have put forward their suggestions but we as a group should have the final say. After all their words are not law.
We weighed the pros and cons of both sides, and in the end of the day, it's not the lectures that have to bust their asses animating or sit for hours taking care of renders, it's us.
We'll entertain said easily angered man in the meeting, but I just really hope that we don't pick a solution just to make him happy, that would be a very grave mistake. I'll even go as far to say that from this moment on, the less advice we get on technical things the better to make things go smoother (And if anyone from outside the team is reading this, note that this is solely MY opinion and not representative of anyone else in the group)
As for the render passes.. I was just expressing my doubt as I have never used such a method before. I would gladly listen to WHY it is better to do it that way. And if no reason can be given, isn't it better to go back to the way in which we are used to and worked in the past? But if it can be proven better then I'm all for it.
I don't know about you guys, but perhaps to explain my reasoning a little bit.. I wouldn't do something different just because a lecturer tells me to do it that way, no matter how experienced he/she is. I'll take their suggestion and put it on level ground with my own methods, and judge it fairly.
Hmm, it's well explained and you have your point there. All right, we will see how tomorrow.
ReplyDeletepersonally i prefer the tsm rig ...
ReplyDeletebut if really cannot use it, i wont mind using the auto rig.
hey sorry huda & I will not be able to make it we have work hav eto OT for sure.~
ReplyDeleteand sorry fer yaking at meetings, work seem to drive us especially crazy on meeting days ): sorrrryyy~ i suggest a agenda written down for meetings~
hope a good resolution is found for the rig choice....
I agree with daryl that not following teacher's suggestions does not mean that it is disrespectful to them. I have used the auto rig in SP4 too. Thus, I am able to compare both rigs. I prefer the Tsm rig. Like I said the previous meeting, it is more user friendly. The attibutes/ keys are found easily in the TSM rig. The controls are neat too. One more thing, I am so sorry that the meeting are inefficient but at least all of us know the progress/ updates. Sorry if we are always drifted away from the original topic, but please understand that it is hard to control everyone and want them to focus.
